Christmas

Christmas has come and gone. It, as usual, was fantastic for all of the family. I do not know why I have to worry and over prepare and constantly count and everything else I do to work myself up. I guess it is just feeling like you want it to be "perfect." Ellie's favorite gift was a close tie between her new baby and her dream kitchen. Both of the boys agree that their B.B. guns were the highlight. I am glad to be sleeping again and the kids have new things to entertain them for the next week off of school.

Snow Fun

Every time Mitch pulls the boys behind the Ranger I want to say the "You might be a redneck" quote. It may look funny, but it sure is fun. I had to opt out this year as I told the boys, the baby probably would not like me getting thrown off the sled and smashing it. We are waiting for more snow to enjoy the big hills at my dad's farm, but until then...

Pinkalicious

I decided to make cupcakes for a Christmas party today. When Ellie asked if she could help I couldn't resist using one of her favorite lines...
What color would you like? Pink she said pink, pink, pink.
Those of you who have read the book pinkalicious, 1/20 as much as I, will completely understand her sentiment. She now knows that book by heart and likes to "read" it to me. Getting most of the pages word for word. Aren't kids memories amazing.

The Snowman

Who can resist making a snow friend with snow like this!!! Unfortunately the following days of high 30's (what a heat wave) weren't so kind. He currently is missing his head and leaning wayyyy to the right. Ellie says that he melted just like Frosty.

Snowballs

We had a great ward Christmas party last week. The boys got to dress up like they were playing in the snow and sing a few Christmas songs. The best part, and the one that they "kept a secret" from me, was during once there was a snowman, they got to through Styrofoam snowballs into the audience. Wow throwing fake snow in the church. It was like a dream come true!!

Winner, Winner, Winner!!!

I suddenly have so much to post and no time to post it. Does that sound like anyone else's holiday schedule? I was so excited that both of the boys won in the local coloring contest again this year. They think that it is so neat to have their pictures in the newspaper. Here there are at the the winning sites where I snuck in my own photo.

Laundry Made Fun ?!?!

Every now and then you find a "chore" that the kids don't mind helping with, for a few days at least. The last few weeks it has been taking the laundry out of the dryer. I know that the only reason that they are happily complying is that they bury themselves under it on the couch, and when I come to fold it they pop out and yell "BOO." Of course I am totally shocked every time. I guess whatever works!!

He's Rubbing Off On Them!!

I know that Mitch is quite the influence in my boys lives, but the other day I saw it...I saw the boys get off the bus and walk up the lane. As they reached the grass they dropped to the ground and began belly crawling. Soon they both hopped up and started firing like mad with their fingers, that had magically turned into handguns. After laughing hysterically I realized there must be a heard of deer in the field and they were HUNTING!!! Boys, you gotta love them?!?!

Everything Is There!!

I guess since people are starting to rub my tummy the news is out, quite literally by the looks of me. We are excited to be expecting another baby. We had an ultrasound that showed the baby was doing great, as far as they could see. We are anticipating its debut in March.

Let It Snow???

This storm was a few days ago, but still blog worthy. We woke up to this much and through out the day it melted and put down this much more again. I just hope that the sunshine comes through for some trick-or-treating. I guess if not,we could all goes as snow monsters?!

What Has Been Going On Around Here?

So I just happened to be going through my folders of pictures today and I found these. Not sure what is going on here. I am assuming that Mitch took them while I was at work, but huh...I'm stumped. Too bad he is not here right now for me to ask him about them. It looks like the kids, and dad, were busy.

Carving Pumpkins!!!

What Halloween season would be complete without carved pumpkins for the porch. Hudson thinks that I am a real artist he wanted crescent eyes, a star nose and a mouth that is really wide at one side like the pumpkin is OOOhing? All I can say is that I tried my best.

The Pumpkin Walk

We went to North Logan's pumpkin walk again this year. The kids all agreed that their favorite scene was the Band-Aid setup. They had a little boy, whose bum was made out of a pumpkin go figure, that had a band-aid on his bum and was standing up going potty. They laughed and laughed. We got to have four cousins along which really added to the excitement of the night.

I've Got Nothing...

Bad weather has confined us to the house and made just about everyone insane. Hudson and I are finally feeling better, however. My helpful doctor tells me, maybe it wasn't strep with all of the other symptoms, it could have been that S word?? Who knows and who cares at this point. We lived. But, needless to say I have not felt like taking many pictures so here are a few summer time pics I never posted... like a mom and baby moose wandering through the back yard!! The boys first day of school and Ellie thinking that she is going to school with "her backpack" I wonder what the penalty is for not wearing pants?

So, I Am Asking Again...

...what month did you say it was? I know that 85 and snowing in the month of September is not shocking for our area, but I feel it is a little abnormal four days apart. I guess that is why we love it here, it always keeps you guessing!!

What Month Did You Say It Was???

So, I am not sure how the weather is where you are, but... here it is HOT. I am not sure which is harder to believe, the fact that it is the end of September 26th and 85 degrees or that my kids talked my into getting out the swimming pool. It didn't take long before they realized it wasn't really July weather, but they had a ball anyway. What day of swimming would be complete without Popsicles.

He Got One!!!

Yes, my husband is a mighty hunter. He has killed himself a bull elk with his bow. Of course he would have loved it to be a six point, but the eating will be much better of this younger kill. I am so proud of his hard work.

Oh the things to do on a farm...

So we went to my parents the other day to bottle some applesauce and beans. While we are there my dad gets the greatest idea that the kids need to make boats out of zucchini!! Well they were thrilled at the idea and it got even better when he said that they could "race" them in the cow trough. It was like a boyhood dream come true. We eventually ran out of zucchini and had to break in to the squash. Oh, and did I mention everyone came out soaked. Yeah, it was so fun even the cows wanted a turn. Thanks Maddy for your carving skills!!
