Hudson is moving to Franklin...Kentucky that is (Week 75)

 Hudson got transfer news today that he will be moving to Franklin, Kentucky with Elder Nathan Walrath.  He is from Mesa, AZ and will make Hudson look short at his 6'5" height.  Franklin, Kentucky was named for Founding Father Benjamin Franklin.  It holds the Kentucky Downs horse racetrack.  On March 1, 1968, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash were married at the Franklin First United Methodist church by Reverend Leslie Chapman.  Hudson is a bit upset.  He has four people on date for baptism during the next six weeks.  He would really like to stay in Spring Hill and see that work completed for one more transfer.  On the plus side, Elder Asay will be staying so the investigators will not be abandoned.  Hudson says Franklin is a difficult area.  Ellie told Hudson that is why he was being moved there.  He has certainly brought life into the Spring Hill mission area.  I told Hudson he should not be so good at his job, and maybe they would leave him where he is at.  Hudson knows that the anxiety of the new companion and area is what is really making him upset.  Even though he does not think it is fair he has no say where he lives or who with.  I told him President Weaver might have insight as to why this is the right place for him right now, and it can't wait another transfer.  Here's hoping for the best in the coming six weeks!  

Sister Hobbs, who Hudson flew out with came home today!  That means his completion date is in sight.

 Today is Hudson's 17th Month Mark!  Going to Columbia to thrift shop and hang out with the Hermana's.  

Saturday February 5:  Hudson was not allowed to drive on Friday due to ice and snowstorm.  The tech Elder's drove down from Nashville Saturday morning to film the Bonfire, did a baptism interview and edited it in time to look live by 7:00 pm.  Busy Boys.  Hudson and Elder Asay hosted the Bonfire!  They did awesome as I knew they would.  The ring lamp did not make Hudson's eyes look pure blue like it did last time, and he might need a bigger size shirt.  Afterwards Hudson and Elder Asay went to JoAnne's for a lesson.  She has two jobs, works 7 days a week and wakes up at 3:00 am.  The Elder's challenged her to read every morning when she got up so early, and she DID IT!  JoAnne is feeling bad she can't go to church with her work schedule.  She also needs to quit smoking, but she has a desire to be baptized.  Daughter Lauren and Grandson Dominque live with her.  During the closing prayer Dominiques's tablet starts sounding roblox "ooof", then Fortnite dance music.  Sacrificed pillow named Lebowosky that the Elders made with Italian, catholic vibe in the church firepit.  Also burnt Elder Asay's 18-month pants!  Played mafia over the phone with FHE zone call. Hudson was the only detective left with 4 mafia guys left.  Hudson did mad psychological warfare to kill of the Hermana's as mafia guys.  Zone Leaders were left as a companionship.  Hudson got everyone behind killing them off and won!

Wednesday February 9:  P-Day was full of reflection vibes.  Went to the creek and played in the water for an hour.  Felt good to chill, relax and hang out like kids.

Friday February 11:  Muslim investigators from Africa.  They tore carpet out of their rental house.  She appreciated the Elders.  She was impressed they were doing missionary work instead of partying and their age.  She asked for their parents' names, so she could pray for us.

Saturday February 12:  Ward Valentine Party.  The Elders showed up a little late at 8:00 and everyone was line dancing.  Hudson wonders if it is a Southern thing.  He doesn't know how they know what to do?  Brother Rounds ward mission leader from Logan, UT.  They have a young family with 4 kids who's oldest is about 8 years old.  He is wearing a bright floral shirt with a few buttons undone.  Sister Rounds worked at Fun Park where they had swing dancing once a week.  They were showing everybody up with their talent.  At one point in the dance Sister Rounds picked up Brother Rounds in a lift.  Sister Rounds wanted to take another spin, but their little son Kinnick ate seven cupcakes and was throwing up in the bathroom, so they had to call it quits.

Week 73

P-Day was spent at the temple!!!!  Hudson and the Elders in the Spring Hill area went and did an endowment session at the Nashville temple.  This is only Hudson's second time to do an endowment session in 18 months.  He said it was much less confusing than the first time.  To top it off they went for hot chicken afterwards.

Hudson and Elder Asay had a good lesson with JoAnne and put her on date for March 12.  She lives with her daughter who was baptized about a year ago but is not attending church.  Her daughter has a 3-year-old boy who might be autistic and definitely has sensory issues.  Hudson says he watches a lot of movies on his tablet.  On this particular day he was watching them in Russian?

Monday, January 24:  Zone Conference.  President Weaver is having issues at home.  His phone went off, and he passed it to Sister Weaver.  Elder Asay and Hudson did a role play with President Weaver in front of everyone.  They were trying to get someone to read the Book of Mormon.  Shared a scripture out of 2 Nephi and testified of its truthfulness.  Went for hot chicken afterwards.

Tuesday, January 25-26:  Exchange with Zone Leader Elder Corey.

Wednesday, January 26:  Creek got stocked with 4–5-inch rainbow trout, and the Elders went fishing.  Elder Black wanted to fish before he left for original assignment in Canada.  They joked about Elder Black loving his uncles (district leaders Elder Nelson and Asay) more than his own father (trainer Elder Layton).  There was a 30-yard stretch of creek with about 20 people lining the bank in waders, camo, salmon nets and gaff hooks.  The boys were so confused!

Friday, January 28:  Asked to help with early morning seminary, at the church at 6:00 AM.  Good lesson with Will.  Grew up Lutheran and now non-denominational.  Owns his own insurance company.  Put him on date for baptism.  His husky, Luna can do 360's in the air.  Good lesson with Lauren.  Meeting with Brother Rounds who is from Logan.  The plan to increase baptism rates, is social events.  They hope to make the Church more visible.  They do basketball games on Thursday nights at the church.

Saturday, January 29:  Food prep for classy Sunday meal.  Went shopping and brought shrimp for coconut shrimp, and two precooked crawdads for $.60 at Kroger.

Sunday, January 30:  Classy meal was delicious.

Monday, January 31:  Exchange with Elder Allred.  Cold call with an atheist.  Hudson was sitting on the sidelines listening but couldn't resist when the atheist called the Book of Mormon a novel.  The atheist thought it was convenient that only Joseph Smith saw God and the golden plates.  Hudson was happy to correct him that there are actually 11 witnesses.  All of them signed their testimonies along with multiple, personally journal entries and lifelong conviction as to what they saw.  He said signatures don't mean anything, then Hudson said what about the constitution?  Next call was a young woman who said Jesus was her redeemer as Boaz is.  Boaz is Ruth's husband in the Bible.  There are no accounts of him doing anything.  They played pool afterwards so that was fun.
