We were in Redfish this week when Hudson was set to call for P-Day. With the help of Visitor Center WiFi we were able to stay connected. Mitch and I must have looked frightful after 7 days in the woods. Hudson said, "WOAH! You two look homeless." It was great as always to see and speak to him. He continued cutting out as we were sitting on the steps so we stood right next to the locked door and the connection did not fail us again. I noticed that he was speaking correctly without any Umms or Likes. He sounded very eloquent. He asked me for one word to describe him and I told him "charismatic".
He has spent Rashann's Taco Bell gift card. He does not think their crunch wrap supreme is as good as dad's on the Blackstone. He does enjoy getting 3 $1 burritos and feels like he is eating like a king. He sent me the updates of the COVID restrictions, but the screen shot was too small to read. He says when he started teaching Ryan's girlfriend she told them she was just learning about it to support Ryan because she was Baptist. When the Elders asked her what Baptists believed she said "in Jesus." The Elders said that's awesome so do we, what other beliefs do you have? She couldn't tell them any other beliefs of her "religion". Hudson said that is the most common response from people. They belong to a religion, but don't know too much about it. The Elders are hopeful she will do more than support Ryan.
The Elders had a boys day as the sisters were training. They went to an arcade where they pushed quarters around and played on a ping pong table. His record collection is growing and almost feels a whole wall of the study room. He likes working with Elder Lewis and hopes for one more transfer in Lafayette with him.
Grandma Nelson sent him a July 4th card that was corny and pan cookies that stuck together. She also sent his Redfish souvenir money to him to spend in Tennessee. Connie gave the Elders some more tadpoles and as of Wednesday night, there were doing well. We'll see if they get them to frogs.
