Hudson's Podcast Week 94

Hudson has had a HOT week in Antioch.  He says the temperature is in the 90's with humidity at 80% making it feel like 115!  He feels damp like he is in the shower all day when he is outside.  Street contacting has come to a standstill.  The apartment complexes look like everyone has deserted them.  He says it is almost eerie.  He is glad at times like these to have social media to use (never thought he would say that).  When he does get someone to answer the door it feels like a freezer pouring out on them.  They have good air conditioning.

He got a call from the Mt. Juliet Elders who have an investigator on date for Saturday July 9.  Hudson assumed it would be a poor lead but turns out she is solid.  The Elder's found her on Facebook and didn't check her address.  She has been driving 50 minutes to go to church with them.  I feel bad the Mt. Juliet Elder's did all the work for Hudson and his companion to facilitate the baptism, but it will be great whoever does it.

The Elders have been meeting at the church to play basketball.

He went to talk to a former and when she answered there was a red wasp on her door.  The Elder's had backed up and tried to warn her it was there.  It ended up climbing inside and she chased it back out with a broom.  All the while her roommate was yelling, "you go girl, get that wasp."  Luckily no one was stung, but she asked the Elder's to come back on Thursday.

Hudson has been meeting with a Sudan Refugee who has been teaching him graphically about the justice system in her country.  Murder is about the only thing they prosecute and that is done by asking the murdered persons family what they want done with you, interesting.

Friday, July 1:  Goodbye President Weaver.

Sunday, July 3:  Zone Conference to meet President Galland.  He is layed back and a bit improper, but Hudson feels like he is a stud.  They met at the Stake Center and Sister Galland gave them all candy bars and asked getting to know them questions.  It will be an entertaining 2 transfers if nothing else.

Monday, July 4:  Ward Pancake breakfast and firework show at the bishop's house.  The people he is teaching came to both activities.  Bad news is they are living together and not married.

Tuesday, July 5:  Service for a catholic man by helping in his garden.

Wednesday, July 6:  PDay at Opryland.  It apparently is a resort that has a gigantic atrium with hundreds of live plants inside.  He did not visit the Grand 'Ol Opry or see anything Country Music Related.  He went to the Boot Barn and bought a $300 pair of cowboy boots and then got 2 free.  Elder Northrup and Jensen picked up the extras along with a sister missionary who got hers for about $100 also.  Hudson only had $100 cash on him, so he used his mission food card to pick up the rest.  He is hoping he doesn't get a call when that charge goes through.
